filmpres.com is a film preservation studio and a network of professionals based in Munich, Germany and Vienna, Austria. We provide consultancy and management services for heritage institutions (museums, archives, private collections) and artists with analog film holdings. Our services include:

SERVICES

We support your institution in all steps of the analog film preservation process. We offer our guidance from the funding application (in the DACH region), through inventory and cataloguing, to conservation, restoration and digitization. In workshops and training sessions, we also impart knowledge and technical know-how to your institution's staff.

The technical work can either be carried out on site at your institution or via our service company Tinted Memories in Munich.

In the respective specialist areas, we rely on a network of proven experts who support us with their services in art history, curation, exhibition planning, digital long-term archiving, acquisition management and lending, as well as with technical resources.

ABOUT the founder

Manuel Götz graduated from the Preservation and Presentation of the Moving Image program at the University of Amsterdam. He is also an alumni of the University of Vienna and the Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film.

Since 2016, he has been working as a film restorer in various capacities in the Munich area, first as an employee at ARRI Media, then as a freelancer at ARRI Cinetechnik, Pharos Media and Cinegrell.

In 2021, he founded a company with two colleagues providing film restoration services.

His clients include film archives and film collections all over the world.

Manuel Götz has held lectures and workshops at relevant events in Europe, Asia and the U.S.
